The World of NGOs is an Austrian non-proft organisation, founded in 1997, engaged in empowering civil society in Austria, supporting actively the development of European integration issues through information and networking with and among NGOs. |

Currently about 60 organisations are members of The World of NGOs, umbrella organisations as well as citizen's initiatives and research institutes.
The projects of the organisation centre key challenges for society in Europe and the role NGOs can play in finding common solutions. Consequently, the attention is focused on cross-cutting issues like "civil dialogue", the new method of consulting civil society. |

The organisation is also active in concrete projects with regard to social inclusion of vulnerable groups like women, migrants and youth, especially in rural areas, experimenting with new educational settings and activating methods of participation. |

To fight human trafficking and to prevent the most vulnerable members of society from this new form of slavery especially in the process of the constant enlargement of the European Union seems to be one of the most important challenges today. The World of NGOs is therefore promoting NGO-activities in this special field of interest of European society. |
