CHASTE is a UK Registered Charity, number 1106353.

CHASTE was founded in 2004 to support the victims of sex trafficking and raise awareness of the issue across Europe. CHASTE works closely with the UK Government, the UK Human Trafficking Centre, and European NGO's and faith organisations to:

share best practice and promote excellence in the protection and care of victims of sex trafficking

campaign and lobby on issues around sex trafficking and demand

raise awareness (including in countries of origin) to facilitate prevention, and assist women to return home safely

advise and support other organisations engaged in similar work

CHASTE has a strong European dimension, including:

the UK representative on COATNET (Christian Organisations Against Trafficking Network), the European network of faith organisations working on sex-trafficking issues

the UK representative and founder member of ARETUSA

developed a lobbying campaign to persuade the UK Government to ratify the Council of Europe's Convention on Action against Trafficking

project work (education and awareness raising) with partners in European counties of origin

presented the Alternative NGO Report (to the UK Government Report) on sex trafficking to the Committee for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) at the UN (July 2008), which was attended by many European nations

CHASTE is committed to the eradication of sex trafficking, care for survivors, dealing with the demand for commercial sex which drives sex trafficking, and cultural and legislative change.
