BalticFem is a non governamental inter-regional organisation, based in Norrtalje, Sweden. The organisation was founded in the fall of 2002 by a group of experienced and committed people who has worked in the field of gender equality for quite some time. BalticFem works on supporting and developing of networks working for gender equality issues around the Baltic sea. One of the prime objectives in starting this organisation is the need for coordinating the efforts made by many organisations in this area and to help raise the awareness of and putting focus on gender equality.
